Architectural Services Invoice Template

A progress invoice lets the owner check your fee against the work done so far. This template bills each design phase by percent complete, lists reimbursable expenses at cost, and subtracts what earlier invoices already billed, so the amount due is plain.

  • Basic services (percent complete)
  • Reimbursable expenses (at cost)
  • Previously billed
  • Online payment by card or bank transfer
Free, no account needed to start. Not legal advice.

Use it each month on a design project billed by phase, from schematic design through construction documents.

Frequently asked questions

What is percent-complete billing?

Each phase's fee is billed in proportion to how much of the phase is done. The invoice shows the fee earned to date for each phase, then subtracts what was billed before, so the client pays only for progress since the last invoice.

Should reimbursable expenses be listed separately?

Yes. Listing printing, delivery, and travel at cost on their own lines shows the client they're passed through, and keeps them apart from your fees.

Is this architectural services invoice template free?

Yes. Read and copy the full text on this page, or edit it online and see it as your client will. When it's ready, start a free Clientary trial to send it or download it as a PDF.

Has a lawyer reviewed this template?

No. It's a general starting point written by Clientary, not legal advice, and it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer for your situation or the laws where you and your client work. Have your own counsel review it before you use or sign it.
